Nature’s Treasures Collected by Richard
The graceful forked limbs
of yet-to-be trees
some with lichen
and mushrooms attached.
Dried heads of minnows
for an art project.
The skull of a bobcat
judging by saber teeth.
Ovals like rings of a snail.
An old tin chocolate box
full of perfectly skinned rodents
deposited by our cats over years.
These and more of nature’s treasures
you collected are packed
clean in a cardboard box or two.
They await your perusal.
Come anytime from wherever
heaven has sent you.
No one will disturb them
as long as I am here.
